A plain-English summary of how AHLSORT is licensed. The full license agreement comes with every quote and applies to every order. If this summary and the agreement differ, the agreement governs.
| What you license | AHLSORT is licensed by processor core. We count the cores available to each machine that runs it, whether a physical server, a virtual machine, a logical partition or a cloud instance. The minimum is four cores per machine. |

| Non-production | Development, test, quality assurance, training, disaster recovery and standby machines are licensed at half the production rate. You may hold up to one non-production license for each production license. |
| Containers and clusters | Either we license the hosts the cluster runs on, or we issue an unrestricted license for a defined estate. |
| Who may use it | You and your affiliates. If you want an outsourcer or hosting provider to run AHLSORT for you, or to offer it to your own clients, talk to us first so the right license is in place. |
| Term and renewal | Twelve months unless a longer term is agreed. Licenses renew automatically for the same period unless either side gives notice before the renewal date. |
| Fees | Payable annually in advance, excluding taxes. Invoices are due within 30 days. Three-year terms carry a 10 per cent discount and five-year terms 15 per cent. |
| Annual adjustment | Each year on the anniversary of your order, fees move by US CPI plus two points, with a minimum of 3 per cent and a maximum of 8 per cent. This applies within multi-year terms too. |
| Free trial | The full product for 7 days, free, with no card and no obligation. To keep using AHLSORT after the trial, buy a license. |
| Support and updates | Included for the whole term. We support the current release and the one before it, with a four-hour response on production-down issues during US Central business hours. |
| Warranty | For 90 days from delivery of each release, AHLSORT will perform substantially as described in its documentation. If it does not, we will fix it, replace it, or refund the fees for that release. |
| Intellectual property | AHLSORT is licensed, not sold. We will defend you against a claim that AHLSORT as supplied infringes a third party’s intellectual property. If a claim arises, we may modify or replace the software, or end the license and refund the unused fees. |
| Liability | Each party’s liability is limited as set out in the license agreement. |
| Verification | Once a year, on request, you confirm the cores on which AHLSORT runs. |
| Governing law | The laws of the State of Arkansas. |
